Cookies and local storage
What this site stores in your browser, and why.
How this site uses storage
HiDPI Monitors sets one first-party cookie and two local-storage keys. They remember currency and appearance. They are not used for advertising. See the privacy policy for the broader picture.
What we store
| Name | Where | Lasts | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
hidpi.currency-default | Cookie | 1 day | Default Amazon marketplace from the visitor’s Cloudflare country, such as us, ca, or uk. The cookie holds only that marketplace id. |
hidpi.currency | Local storage | Until you clear it | The Amazon marketplace you pick in the header. When set, it overrides the default cookie. Saved USD and CAD values still select the US and Canada. |
hidpi.theme | Local storage | Until you clear it | Light, dark, or system colour theme. |
Cloudflare
Cloudflare, which hosts the site, may set its own strictly necessary cookies to operate and protect the service (bot management for example). Those cookies are controlled by Cloudflare, and not by this application.
When you leave this site
Retailer, manufacturer, and video links are third-party sites. They may set their own cookies, including affiliate cookies after you click a buy link. Their policies apply once you leave hidpimonitors.com.
How to control them
There is no cookie banner because we do not use optional advertising cookies. You can delete this site’s cookies and local storage in your browser settings. Blocking cookies entirely may reset the currency default on each visit; the USD/CAD toggle will still work for that session.
